Hi All,
It all seems to get busier and busier round here with the new baby on the way and my mother and sister in law in the UK to give Hajer some support.
I have tried this week to get some customisations done to bring the forum and the directory into the overall design of the website as they let the side down a bit.
Directory,
Initially I went with an ASP based solution and thought maybe it would be good to roll out the forum on a separate domain which was to be www.tunisia4you.com however it seem that Google treats sub domains of websites as part of the main domain thus for both people in the directory and myself for the reciprocal linking it is better to have the directory on a sub domain on the main website.
I have also changed the software which powers the directory and we are now using phplinkdirectory which is mega and allows us to have the design customised to a greater extent. You can now see the new link directory at http://directory.tunisia.com which I hope you find much better than the previous attempt and also better for those whom with to submit links. The only outstanding element is static urls which are on their way so that the directory gives good “link juice” to those whom choose to advertise.
In terms of charging for the directory my goals are pretty straight forward I want to be number one in Google for Tunisia and thus reciprocal links are free (as this is our preference) however those who do not want to link can pay a fee to do so and even pay a bit more to be a featured link.

As you may or may not know we have a busy forum on the Tunisia website http://forum.tunisia.com where may people come and chat about life in Tunisia. This uses the lovely vBulletin system and we have recently had it overhauled so that it is more customised and fits in with the overall design of the website. If you haven’t been to the forum for a while please visit and leave your comments on the new design and features.

Thanks to everyone who posted their favourite baby names to the blog Hajer has decided with my mother and then told everyone that the babies name is going to be Sara.
